Hoisington forensics places at state

HOISINGTON —The Hoisington High School forensics team brought back eight medals from 3A State Forensics in Wichita on Saturday (May 4).  Every Cardinal earned at least one medal and Olivia Lowry earned two.
At the State Championship, Lowry and Jacob Durrett placed second in improvised duet acting.  Lowry also placed sixth in humorous solo acting.
Shannon Manka placed third in serious solo acting. Ashley Lockwood and Jordin Greer placed fourth in serious duet acting.   
At the State Festival, Shae Bitter and Terance Croslin each earned a I rating and a medal with their prose selections.
As a team, Hoisington finished in twelfth place (out of 64 schools).
The team wrapped up the year with a Forensics Night on Sunday.  The team enjoyed a meal, and then the state qualifiers entertained the audience.   
Lowry earned the Outstanding Forensics Student Award.  Manka, Lockwood, and Durrett earned honorable mention.  Bitter,  Croslin, Larissa Donovan,  Durrett, Greer, Lockwood, Lowry, Manka, and Robbie Willesden earned forensics letters.
