Hoisington students have heart
hoi kl hoops
The last few weeks the fifth through eighth graders at Hoisington Middle School have been hard at work for the American Heart Association. The kids collected donations to help fight the number one killer cardiovascular heart disease. Physical Education Instructor Tina Johnson was very pleased with the outcome. We set our goal at $1500, and the kids raised just over $3,100.00. They did a fantastic job. The kids worked really hard to make a difference. The kids ended their mission with a Hoops for Heart day at school last week. All the classes got to participate in several basketball events. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a terrific day, said Johnson. The top winner for HMS was seventh grader Jacob Satterlee who raised $217. Top two winners in each class were fifth grader: Trenton Roat and Kaia Parks; sixth grade, Gavin Riedl and Delaney Smith; seventh grade, Satterlee and Melissa Stout, eighth grade, Nolan McCurry and Jessica Schauf.
