HOISINGTON —The Hoisington Labor Day Committee announces that registration is now open for the Labor Day Royalty Pageant Contest to be held in conjunction with the Annual Labor Day activities. A Labor Day Prince and Princess will be named during the Labor Day Weekend and the winners will each receive a cash award of $100, a $100 savings bond, carnival ride tickets and picture frame memento.
The rules, which apply to the candidates, are:
• Candidates must be 4 – 6 years of age.
•Parents must be bonafide residents of Barton County.
Contestants will be judged on stage appearance in “Festive Wear”, stage presentation, a 5 X 7 photograph, ticket sales and cash contributions.
Points are accrued in each category. Judging will be held on Saturday,
Sept. 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. Tickets for the judging session will be $2.
