Students from St. Joseph School demonstrated their public speaking skills in the annual orations contest held on April 4.  This contest is sponsored by the Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization. Students shared a presentations on this year’s topic, “a person who has overcome.” The seven finalists were:  Jade Mountain, Allison Panning, Sarah Hammeke, Alex Hammeke, Ross McNett, Jordan Davis Mountain, and Peter Joslin.  Judges for the contest were Julie Ann Jacobs, Mike Westerman, and Jenna Snell.  The judges selected the top-three finalists, pictured above from left, as: first place - Sarah Hammeke, second place - Ross McNett, and third place - Jade Mountain.  Hammeke, will go on to compete at the Dodge City Diocesan Oration Contest on April 13.
