Power lifting champs
On Jan. 22 and 23, Ellinwood Police Chief Art Keffer and Brett Wondra, formerly of Great Bend, competed at the Natural Athlete Strength Association Natural Nationals Powerlifitng Championships.along with approximately 120 other competitors. The meet was held in Oklahoma City, Okla. Keffer competed in the 275 pounds weight class, age 50-59 and squatted 628 pounds, benchpressed 424 pounds and deadlifted 568 pounds giving him a three lift total of 1620 pounds. Wondra competed in the 220 pound weight class, open and squatted 507 pounds, benchpressed 264 pounds and deadlifted 501 pounds. Both Keffer and Wondra placed first in their weight divisions.
