Shrimp Boil to be held to benefit Kans for Kids

ELLINWOOD — Barton County children who receive a diagnosis of cancer will be the beneficiaries of the 2nd Annual Kans for Kids Shrimp Boil and Auction to be held Sat., Oct. 20 at Lone Wolf Restaurant, 111 E. 2nd, Ellinwood. The social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. Bidding on silent auction items will be from 5:30 until dinner with the live auction at 7 p.m.
    According to Anne Beck, chairman, there are a wide variety of wonderful auction items this year, including a four day trip to Breckenridge, pick-of-the-litter Stuart Young Labrador pup, a rib dinner for 20 prepared by Gail and Alan Moeder, plus many more outstanding items too numerous to mention.
    Tickets are $25 and are available at Farmers Bank and Trust in Great Bend; 1st Kansas Bank in Claflin, Hoisington and Great Bend, Lone Wolf in Ellinwood or from any Kans for Kids board member (Gloria Adams, Anne Beck, Jimmie Haddon, Teresa Hickel, Lana Kephart, Loretta Kinman, Jill Lane, Lindsay Mitchell, Gail Moeder, Jettie Zoller, Duane and Debbie Reif.     Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation, established in 1994 provides financial and emotional support to Barton County children that receive a diagnosis of cancer. The organization is currently assisting 10-year-old Kadin White, Great Bend, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia (ALL).
