Central Plains Middle School would like to recognize Addison Crites, Hannah Beran and Paxton Hammeke as the March Students of the Month.
Addison is the daughter of Dan and Lisa Crites and is in the sixth grade. Her siblings are Braedan, Cassidy and Brody Crites
Addison participates in vocal and plays the clarinet in band. Her favorite class in school is reading, and her favorite type of book to read is historical fiction. When asked what she likes best about school, she replied, “Seeing my friends and learning.”
Mrs. Webster stated, “Addison is always cheerful, helpful, willing and kind. She practices her clarinet music until she can play it well and easily. She asks for help when she needs it and is always ready to fix problems. She goes beyond the notes on the page by adding dynamics and phrasing to make beautiful music.”
Hannah is in the 8th grade and her parents are Eric and Kristi Beran. She has a sister, Sarah, who is in the 4th grade.
Mrs. Dohrman stated, “Hannah quietly goes about her business and does the “right” thing. She works hard and is kind to others.
Hannah participates in band, vocal, quiz bowl, volleyball, basketball and track. Hannah’s favorite subject is PE. When asked what she likes best about school, she replied, “Participating in sports.”
Paxton is the son of Kori Hammeke and Steve Hammeke and is in the seventh grade. Paxton has one brother, Merritt, and two sisters, McKenna and Brynna.
Paxton participates in band, quiz bowl, football, basketball and track. His favorite subjects in school are PE and English. What Paxton likes best about school is, “Talking to his friends.”
Mrs. Webster said, “Paxton provides student leadership in the percussion section. He makes sure he learns his part and helps other learn their parts. On his own, he analyzes the total percussion parts and identifies areas that need work. Then he encourages his fellow percussionists to work their parts until they are right.”
