Great Bend residents are invited to take part in the first ever Cruise Night in downtown Great Bend. More than 70 cars from the SRCA & Vintage Wheels clubs will line up at Jack Kilby Square to parade through the City of Great Bend on Friday, May 31st. (The Cruise Night was originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 1st as part of KANSAS SPEEDWEEK but cold weather caused the event to be postponed.) The cars will line up starting at 7 p.m. and will leave the square around 7:15 p.m. Cars will be led by police escort through town, due to arrive back at the square at approximately 7:45 p.m., followed by a community gathering on the Courthouse lawn. Downtown retailers will be staying open until 8 p.m, and there will be lots to see and do as part of the June Jaunt Festival, including a free showing of "Wizard of Oz" at 9:30 p.m. in the courthouse lawn. Free to attend.
