ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood District Hospital Physical Therapy Department will host a health walk this Saturday at 8 a.m. promoting the benefits of walking.
The event begins at Wolf Park where Mike Westerman will entertain with an old fashioned medicine show.
“It started last year,” said Dianna Smith, physical therapy at EDH. “October is Physical Therapy Month. The goal is to increase awareness of how walking can improve your health.
“It’s to encourage citizens to take a walk,” she said. To receive health benefits, “you don’t have to jog, just walk at a good brisk pace.”
There will be a quarter mile, one mile and two mile course, marked around Ellinwood.
People will walk in groups.
Water will be available.
