Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made two ambulance runs Monday, and five Tuesday.

They also performed on carbon monoxide check on Tuesday, at 2511 walnut drive.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Someone shot three holes in the east door at LD Drilling, 7 SW 26 Ave., it was discovered Tuesday morning. It appears to have been done by a rifle or pistol of a higher caliber.

 

Great Bend Police

A vehicle driven by Eddie Dexter was eastbound on 10th Street at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday and struck a vehicle driven by Jennifer Esparza, that was stopped at the light at 10th and Main.

An alleged shoplifting at Walmart was reported Tuesday, and a suspect was served a notice to appear in municipal court.

Derick Wilson was driving west and failed to stop at a stop sign on the U.S. 281 Bypass at 2:32 p.m. Tuesday. His vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Kyle Carzoli.

A Great Bend man was arrested Sunday on a disorderly conduct charge. After being held at the Barton County Jail for 48 hours, he was released Tuesday on his own recognizance. Police were called to 2316 Ninth St. at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, because the man was in the building and refused to leave. He then left without incident, but at 2:22 a.m. police were called to the Walmart Supercenter, 3503 10th St., with a report he was inside the business and staff wanted him to leave. He again left without incident. At 3:09 a.m., police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn at 911 Grant St.; he was inside, and staff wanted him to leave. He left without incident.
