HOISINGTON – The Hoisington City Council will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. today at the city office, 109 East First St., to consider a postponement or ban of fireworks in the community, City Manager Jonathan Mitchell said.
“As many of you have likely heard, there are a number of communities considering changes to their fireworks practices in our region,” he said. “Due to the dangerous conditions caused by extreme heat and a lack of moisture, Great Bend is considering postponing its celebration until conditions improve. It sounds like Barton County will take similar action this coming Monday.”
