Great Bend man dies

HAYS — A Great Bend motorcyclist died Friday night after crashing after being pursued by city of Hays officers, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The patrol reports Ryan P. McGinness, 32, died when his 2012 Suzuki motorcycle flipped multiple times when he failed to negotiate a curve at hit an embankment at U.S. 183 Bypass and Golf Course Road. The accident report said McGinness was fleeing from Hays police for a undisclosed reason.
McGinness, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:44 p.m. Friday, according to the patrol. The Larned police department notified McGinness’ mother her son had died.
