Helping the cause
Agencies shop from items donated through the United Way of Central Kansas Stuff the Bus Campaign and Boys Home volunteers help with the effort on their day off from school. Dianne Call and Kay Wilbur coordinated the event and the supplies, USD 428 donated the bus for the day, and Wal-Mart was allowed UWCK to ask for items in front of their store. Larned State Hospital, Barton Community College and Sunflower Bank also had special days for Stuff the Bus. These items help 21 agencies provide much needed items for their clients. Many volunteers help distribute the items to the agencies and help load up the items. United Way of Central Kansas is halfway to their goal, and anyone who would like to donate and help reach the $250,000 goal contact the United Way office at 620-792-2403.
