The city of Hoisington has lifted the water emergency at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon that had been declared earlier in the day.

The city of Hoisington had declared a water emergency at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for all of its water customers. Due to a significant transmission line leak, the city had requested that customers practice extreme conservation measures.

"Thanks to the hard work of our public works staff and cooperation from our customers, we were able to make the necessary repairs in a safe and effective manner," said City Manager Jonathan Mitchell. "The assistance of numerous utility partners helped to make this emergency much more manageable and was greatly appreciated."

"As a result of this emergency being lifted, we have successfully restored service to all of our customers and have removed the restrictions placed on water usage as a result of this incident"
