To spread the Christmas spirit throughout the library, Great Bend Children’s Librarian Eric Coulbourne held the first ever tree trimming Christmas party on Saturday.
Filling the library with the sounds of the “Twelve Days of Christmas,” Coulbourne wanted to encourage creativeness with Christmas.
The children strung popcorn, sneaking a few bites in-between and then hung the strings on the tree.
“I love Christmas,” said Coulbourne. It’s one of my favorite holidays.
Having the children decorate saves the library money too. Plus, “the kids get pride out of seeing their decorations around,” he said.
Coulbourne was creative and used recycled materials to decorations too. He gathered bottle caps and drilled holes in them for stringing.
