Kansas Day 2014 Pam Martin, educator at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, shows off an ornate box turtle to second grade students at Lincoln Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. Second graders from Susan Young and Meredith Ramseys classes heard Martins presentation on the symbols of Kansas as part of her Kansas Day tour of local schools. Martin will visit more schools today, which is actually the 153rd birthday of the Sunflower State. She talked about the bison, honey bee, ringed tiger salamander, box turtle, western meadowlark and cottonwood tree. - photo by DALE HOGG Great Bend Tribune Latest Krystall Barnes' art featured at Sandzen Gallery Ensuring kids’ safety Zoological Society to host Chamber Coffee this week GBCF to host Chamber Coffee
