There’s a new membership club in town — Shafer Gallery’s League of Aesthetic Engineers. According to Gallery Director Dave Barnes, this is a group of creative individuals who will “explore the world of art-making and creative endeavor.”
Those who join now will be invited to the group’s inaugural gala, from 6:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Shafer Gallery.
League membership will enjoy benefits that include free artwork and workshops, a quarterly newsletter, service opportunities including docent training and collaborative art-making projects, discounts on gallery purchases, VIP members-only receptions, yearly excursions to art venues and the opportunity to meet visiting artists and judges.
There are different levels of membership.  There is a $50 single membership and a $75 couple’s membership in the “Clockmakers” division and a $100 single membership or $125 couple’s membership in the “Time Travelers” division.  All donation levels are annual.

• Inaugural gala
The exclusive kick-off wine and cheese event for members will feature performances by world renowned pianist Dr. Irena Ravitskaya and up-and-coming opera star Jessica Perez. Other activities will include an official commissioning ceremony for the league and a collaborative creative activity.
