It looks like a big Christmas present now, but this Saturday evening the wrapping paper will come off of the Great Bend Public Library’s "Bookstore." The unveiling will take place following the 5:30 p.m. Home for the Holidays Parade.

The Friends of the Library group has decided to fill a bookcase with items available for purchase, said Jennifer King, head of marketing at the library. "It is essentially a year-round book sale," she explained.

The store is located near the Information Desk and offers used hardback books for $3 each. Paperbacks and videos are $1.

That isn’t the only thing going on at the library, located at 1409 Williams St., after the downtown parade on Saturday. The staff will serve refreshments and supervise an hour of storytelling and crafts. The library will also be showing the holiday classic, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

The library is closed today, but will be open from 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
