Vehicles driven by Glenda Eye, 59, Larned, and Vonda New, 48, Garfield, collided at 3:44 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 56 at SW 30 Ave., 3 miles west of Great Bend.
Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports Eye was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital by private vehicle. She was treated for minor injuries and released.
Eye was westbound on U.S. 56, driving a 2006 Ford Fusion. New was on the side of the road driving a 2004 Ford Explorer and turned in front of Eye. The Fusion hit the back of the Explorer by the rear tire and came to rest in the roadway. The Explorer spun 180 degrees and also came to rest in the roadway. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. New was not injured.
