Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made three ambulance runs Wednesday and five Thursday.
At 2:44 p.m. Thursday a unit was dispatched to 10th and Harrison St. for a vehicle fire. They arrived to find a Nissan pickup with several objects in the bed that had been burning, including old clothes. All of the items had been removed and extinguished. The driver said a motorist behind her started honking and when she stopped at the light he came up with his extinguisher and put out the fire.

Great Bend Police
A burglary was reported at 805 Eisenhower Ave. on Thursday after a bike and checks were taken.
An aggravated burglary (one committed while a dwelling is occupied) was reported at 4:18 p.m. at 1445 Park Ave. Two Redline bikes were taken from a garage.
A bike was found in the Kwik Shop parking lot at 2334 Main and booked into evidence.

Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a dog at 7:20 a.m. Thursday in front of the Golden Belt Humane Society, 151 S. U.S. 281.
Officers responded to a disturbance at 2:25 p.m. outside the Rosewood Services administrative building at 384 North Washington Ave., Great Bend. A male throwing rocks broke a window on a door.
A burglary was reported at 4:53 p.m. at 193 SE 1 Ave. A garage was broken into, perhaps over the last weekend. An air conditioner, battery charger and miscellaneous parts and tools were taken.
A vehicle hit a deer at 7:55 p.m. half a mile west of Olmitz on NW 100 Ave. and West K-4.
A vehicle hit a deer at 10:16 p.m., 1 mile outside of Great Bend in the 200 block of U.S. 56.
