Police nab Dollar Tree robbery suspect

A suspect was arrested shortly after an armed robbery was reported Monday night at the Dollar Tree, 3502 10th St.
According to police reports, Tony Erskine was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail in suspicion of aggravated robbery and outstanding warrants.
At 9:13 p.m., the reporting party said the suspect took the money bag at gunpoint and ran from the store.
Police had a description of the suspect, who was wearing a black cap and a bandana and a plaid jacket. According to Sgt. Gary Davis, Erskine was located three blocks north of the Dollar Tree in the 1300 block of Polk St., behind the Medical Park Pharmacy. Money and other items were found at the location where he was arrested, at 9:47 p.m.
Lt. Bill Browne said officers did not find a weapon on Erskine, but they found a toy gun in the area and may check it for fingerprints.
