Assistant City Administrator Dawn Jaeger has announced that the city is looking for volunteers to participate in efforts to improve a vital local facility.
The new Stone Lake Committee is going to meet in November and Jaeger is looking for people who will help work on the project. Those who want to be part of that committee need to contact her by calling the city office, 793-4111 by Oct. 15, Jaeger reported. “The Stone Lake Committee will meet in November, if anyone wants to join the committee please contact me by Oct. 15.”
She also noted that the public is being invited to an unrelated meeting that is also planned for later this month.
Jaeger said there will be a planning meeting to discuss wind generation within the city limits, utilizing new technology.
“The public is invited to attend a Planning Commission meeting at the Front Door on Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. to see a multimedia presentation of a new type of wind generator that is being proposed to the commission.”
The assistant city administrator explained the new equipment is specially designed to be appropriate in residential areas. “These wind machines are horizontal and not the typical vertical style, and are being proposed for residential use,” Jaeger reported.
The meeting is open to everyone, she added.
