The Suicide Prevention Task Force of Central Kansas Partnership is holding a Remembrance Ceremony in conjunction with the “Golden Belt Glow for Life” Walk and competitive 5K Run at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Veterans Memorial Park in Great Bend. Coordinator Janel Rose at the Barton County Health Department said the public is invited to attend the Remembrance Ceremony that will be held at the west shelter next to the Lake.
Community members who would like to recognize the memory of someone are encouraged to attend the Remembrance Ceremony and participate in the Recognition.
Registrations for the Glow for Life Walk and 5 K Run are being accepted at Barton County Health Department this week. Late registration at the event will begin at 7 p.m., the Remembrance Ceremony at 7:30 p.m., the warm-up about 8 p.m., and Glow Walk & Run at sunset.
This is National Suicide Prevention Week and proceeds from Glow for Life events will help to provide Suicide Prevention education in our community.
