PAWNEE ROCK — A 911 call from an observant citizen Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a suspect in two burglaries, Sheriff Brian Bellendir said. Scrap metal and other stolen items were recovered.
A burglary at a rural Pawnee Rock residence was reported Tuesday morning. Then, around 9:30 a.m., someone called 911 to report seeing a truck outside a Pawnee Rock business that was closed, and someone loading items in the vehicle. “A description of a vehicle was obtained from the citizen and a deputy dispatched,” Bellendir said.
Deputy Doug Parks found the truck just east of Pawnee Rock and determined that scrap metal and auto parts in the back came from the business, and that other items were from the rural burglary reported earlier.
The driver of the truck, Christopher J. Lamaster of Great Bend, was arrested for burglary and theft and transported to the county jail.
