A busy part of Broadway Avenue will be the site of street work the first part of this week, according to City Engineer Robert Winiecke.
The city engineer reported that the work will be done between McKinley and Polk streets on Broadway and will especially impact an area where many people drop off their mail.
“The city’s Street Department will begin work on replacing the old asphalt pavement at the mailbox pull out along Broadway Avenue in front of the Dominican Sisters (between McKinley and Polk streets) on Monday.”
Winiecke added the work will continue for a couple of weeks.
“It is anticipated that the work should be completed within two weeks. Residents can expect to see heavy machinery in and around the area, and access to the mailboxes and the turnaround in front of the Dominican Sisters restricted during construction,” the city engineer reported.
