As families gather to share in the spirit of Christmas this month, many of them also will be remembering loved ones who have passed away.

Since Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice (GBHH&H) recognizes that families want to find a special way to honor those loved ones, the non-profit agency is again offering the Tree of Life.

"Family and friends may purchase angels for the tree in honor of their loved ones," said Donita Wolf, GBHH&H director. "All proceeds go to the medication fund for our hospice patients. The Tree of Life is a wonderful way to honor our loved ones and support those who are receiving hospice care at the end of life."

The Tree of Life is located on the first floor at St. Rose, across from the gift shop throughout December. It will be adorned with angels that memorialize those who are deceased.

"Many people like to buy an angel as a Christmas gift for their departed loved ones," Wolf said. "They find comfort in honoring family and friends in this special way.

"We encourage the community to remember their loved ones and provide a helping hand to others at the same time," she continued. "All proceeds are used to help our neighbors who need support at this difficult time."

Angels are $10 each and may be purchased at St. Rose’s Gifts from the Heart gift shop or by visiting GBHH&H, 3520 Lakin, just south of St. Rose.

GBHH&H is part of the St. Rose family and serves people in Barton, Pawnee, Rush and parts of Stafford counties by offering home health and hospice services. It is a non-profit agency that opened in 1979.
