Trinity UMC on first phase of Community Coat Redistribution

Trinity United Methodist Church is conducting a Community Coat Redistribution so everyone will be sure to have a warm coat this winter.
The first part of the project, coat collection, will run from Sept. 1-21. Karla Essmiller at Trinity United Methodist said community members are encouraged to clean out their closets and bring gently used coats and jackets to one of the collection points: Trinity United Methodist Church, 5700 Broadway Ave. (Broadway and Patton Road); any Great Bend USD 428 school; or Master Cleaners, 4600 10th St. Place – by the junction of K-96 and 10th Street. Master Cleaners will clean the coats at no charge.
No fur or leather should be donated, Essmiller said.
The free distribution of coats will take place the morning of Saturday, Sept. 28, at the church. Everyone will be welcome to come and get a free coat.
There are no income requirements and this is not a need-based program, Essmiller said. No questions will be asked.
This is the third year the church has organized a coat drive, and members hope that experience will result in a large number of coats finding new homes.
