On Jan. 12, the Kansas Legislature will reconvene.  Some have been busy meeting in special sessions, while others have been visiting with constituents or spending time with their families over the Christmas Holiday.  Committee assignments have been made, and freshman and senior legislators alike have been studying the issues, readying themselves for the months ahead.The Tribune has compiled a list of the 2015 prefiled bills and resolutions that will meet them when they return to work.  Among them are reviewing the definition of sexually explicit conduct as it relates to sexual exploitation of children, and renaming a stretch of U.S. Highway 69 as the “2nd Lieutenant Justin L Sisson memorial highway,” near Overland Park where the young officer grew up.

House of Representatives
HB no. 2001, by Rep. Brunk, for the Statute Book; Property taxation; distribution of taxes paid under protest.
HB No. 2002, by Rep. Sloan, for the Statute Book; Sexual exploitation of a child; definition of “sexually explicit conduct.
