Allowing illegals brings biblical plagues

MANHATTAN — I have written several times about what the Bible states concerning judgment on nations including America, and how to forestall that judgment. America’s biggest offenses are the shedding of innocent blood through abortions and opposing God’s chosen people, Israel. One of the Scripture references concerning the nature of the judgments that I have used is Deuteronomy 28.
We have recently observed some serious developments in America’s judgment that calls us to review that section of Scripture again. Let’s begin by quoting two sets of verses from that chapter. The first are from verses 15, 21 and 22. “However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you. ... The LORD will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you ... The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation ...”
The second quote is from verses 27, 59-61. “The LORD will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and the itch, from which you cannot be cured ... the LORD will send fearful plagues on you and your descendants, harsh and prolonged disasters, and severe and lingering illnesses. He will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will cling to you. The LORD will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed.”
How does this relate to what is going on today?
For months there has been on ongoing mass incursion of illegal immigrants though our border with Mexico. There are now thousands crossing every week. In addition, it has been clearly established by border patrol personnel and the Centers for Disease Control that many of these folks are carrying communicable diseases that we have not seen for years in America. Some examples are tuberculosis, hepatitis, malaria, Chagas disease and extreme boils.
This incursion is the result of our national lack of sufficient response to God’s repeated calls to return to His holiness. First, there is strong evidence that the administration has been encouraging this onslaught. Second, the mainline news media down to local media have ignored this event. Third, most local governments and local citizens have just accepted what is happening.
Now the extreme cost is becoming apparent. The president has requested, and is already spending, billions to facilitate accepting these illegals. In addition, states are experiencing unprecedented overload of resources and facilities. The governor of Oklahoma stated in a recent news conference, which the mainline media did not cover, that she is even seeing illegals from India in her state!  Last of all, we do not have the medical resources to handle the large volume of the diseases these folks are carrying.
The question is whether we are going to believe what God says and change how we behave as a nation, so that God might have mercy on our nation.  Some have seen the danger and responded, like the citizens of Murietta, Calif., and the governor of Texas. However, an insufficient number, including Christians, have responded to this challenge. Much prayer is needed, and action starting with deep personal repentance has to take place.
Proverbs 22:3 warns “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” Where are you in this?
