The next Great Bend Aglow Lighthouse will be April 12 at a new location, the First Assembly of God church, 601 S. Patton Road. Coffee and social time is at 9 a.m., with the meeting getting underway at 9:30.
This month’s guest speaker is Kimberly Becker, director of Central Kansas Dream Center, which is located in the former Roosevelt School in Great Bend. She is a credentialed minister and has worked for years with high risk kids and in mental health.
Becker and her husband Dwayne have three grown daughters and are adopting a 13-year-old girl.
In 2013, the Daniel Trickey Life Giving Center became the Central Kansas Dream Center and currently has a women’s homeless transition shelter, a soup kitchen, and a financial assistance program. Last July, a six-month residential discipleship program for men and women was instituted. Three men have graduated from this program with life-changing results, sponsors said.
Those attending the Aglow meeting are invited to bring gifts such as shampoo and laundry soap, as well as gift cards and financial support to share with the Dream Center.
