St. Joseph’s Festival features meal, sale

ELLINWOOD — The St. Joseph’s Festival will be held this Sunday at the St. Joseph’s Parish Center, 110 West Second St. in Ellinwood. This Altar Society fundraiser will feature lunch served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal includes marinated pork loin, roasted potatoes, green beans, salad, roll and dessert. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 5-10 years old and free to younger children.
The festival will also feature a cake wheel, quilt raffle, homemade baked items and religious items for sale, and games for kids.

St. John’s Episcopal services include Rembrandt talk

This Sunday, March 17, will be a special Service of Morning Prayer at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 2701 17th St., with David Barnes and Teresa Lahar conducting the service. Barnes, director of the Shafer Art Gallery at Barton Community College, will present the free program “Approaching the Cross: Why Rembrandt Matters.”
March 24, Palm Sunday, St. John’s will welcome the Rev. Phyllis Flory’s return to her duties as pastor. She will again be in charge at the Easter service on March 31.
All services begin at 11 a.m. The church is located on the corner of 17th and Adams St.

Immanuel UCC to hold hog feed

ELLINWOOD — Immanuel United Church of Christ will hold its 10th Annual Hog Feed from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the church, located at Seventh and Fritz St. in Ellinwood. Cost is $8 per plate for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12, and children 3 and under eat free. There will be live entertainment and a raffle. The public is invited to come join Imanuel UCC “for good food and fellowship.”
