St. Ignatius Fiesta is Saturday

KANOPOLIS — St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 127 North Missouri St., Kanopolis, will hold its annual fundraiser for the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish on Saturday, Aug. 30. A Mexican food stand opens at 11 a.m. and will be open until the food is sold out.
At 5 p.m., following at 4 p.m. Mass, there will be bingo and games open for the whole family. There is also a drawing for prizes, including a $500 top prize and other prizes donated from many community sponsors.


Dooleys speaking Sunday at Glory Be

LARNED —  Dr. Scott Dooley and his wife Gail will speak about their experiences as health-care missionaries in Papua New Guinea at Glory Be in downtown Larned at 7 p.m.  Sunday, Aug, 31. Dr. Dooley is a missionary, physician and hospital director. His wife Gail is a registered nurse. The public is invited to attend.

Financial Peace classes staring

Two Great Bend churches will offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) series, starting in September.
First Christian Church, 5230 Broadway Ave., classes will begin Monday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. Contact Clayton Noffsinger, 620-793-0604.

Women and teen conference coming

The Gold Girls Club women and teen conference, “A Reflection of Christ” will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Perkins Party Room, 2920 10th St., Great Bend. It is sponsored by Live Like Jesus Today Ministries, based in Ellinwood.

Heartland Farm plans open house

Heartland Farm will hold its annual Open Farm Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. Sponsors invite the public to bring a picnic lunch and spend the day. There is no charge for admission. There will be tours and demonstrations, crafts and food/refreshments.
