HOISINGTON — In 1941, several believers in Hoisington organized a Bible class called the Hoisington Bible School. Every Sunday afternoon this group of 10 to 15 people met for service. In 1942, the church began to flourish and the name Hoisington Bible School was changed to Hoisington Bible Church (HBC). Eventually the need to incorporate led the church to file appropriate papers with the state of Kansas on Aug. 26, 1943.
Since those early days, many people have been touched by the ministry of HBC. In celebration of God’s faithfulness over 70-plus years, the church is hosting a Homecoming Reunion Labor Day weekend. The worship service will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a catered luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. at the Hoisington Recreation Center. Friends and former members are invited to attend this special occasion. The church is located at 501 East 2nd Street in Hoisington.
