The Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church has appointed the Rev. Lennie Maxwell to the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
The Rev. Maxwell comes to Great Bend from Bellville, where he had served for the last five years.
After graduation from Kansas State University with a degree in agricultural business, Maxwell pursued a career in baking and spent 15 years as an agricultural loan officer, primarily with the First National Bank of Quinter. In the spring of 1999 he answered God’s call to full-time ministry. He graduated from Saint Paul School of Theology, receiving a Master of Divinity degree.
Lennie and his wife Carolyn, a registered nurse, who two children. Their son Justin is employed in St. Paul, Minn., as a web design specialist and their daughter Andrea teaches biology at Great Bend High School.
