Great Bend and other central Kansas communities are well on their way to preparing thousands of gift-filled shoeboxes in support of Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind.
Drop-off sites include Grace Community Church, 210 McKinley St. in Great Bend. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon today; 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday; 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday; and 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 24.
In Larned, First Southern Baptist Church, 1224 Corse Ave., is also a collection site. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today; 9 a.m. to noon Saturday; 1-4 p.m. Sunday; and 9 a.m. to noon on Monday.
Other area churches participating are Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell and Ellsworth First Presbyterian Church.
