Presbyterian Women taking orders for pecans
gbtribune news

During the month of September members of Great Bend’s Presbyterian Women will be taking orders for this season’s freshest pecans from the Schermer Farm’s south Georgia pecan orchards.
The 12 oz. packages of pecan halves and pieces are ideal for holiday baking and the several varieties of beautifully packaged specialty pecans make delicious holiday gifts, said church member Carol Woodmansee.
The pecans can be ordered from any Presbyterian Woman or by calling the church office at 792-2594.
The one-pound halves and pieces are priced at $11 this year. The 10 oz. specialty varieties include chocolate covered, cinnamon coated, sugar glazed, and caramel clusters. This year a new variety, dark chocolate covered, has been added.
All of these specialty packages are priced at $10. The orders will be placed at the end of September and will arrive for delivery soon after the first of November in time for holiday baking.
With the funds raised with the pecan sales, Presbyterian Women supports many local philanthropic organizations and services including the Food Bank, the Family Crisis Center, the Salvation Army Store, the Dream Center, Emergency Aid, Sunflower Diversified and Barton County Juvenile Services, as well as national Presbyterian Women’s mission projects.
