Reception planned for Pastor Clay

It will be one of those days that most people never expected to see.
From 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Grace Community Church, 210 McKinley, Pastor Loyce Clay will say goodbye to Great Bend. The 86-year-old former AME pastor is moving to St. Louis, Mo., to live with family, due to his health.
But before that, he wants this opportunity to greet those from this community who have been a part of his life for so many years.
The Rev. Clay came to Great Bend in 1987, moving here from Kansas City, and he was far from being new to ministry even then.
“That’s been a long, long time ago,” he said about when he began preaching, more than half a century ago.
