The public is invited to come and share in performance by the Torres Family Ministries. The Torres Family will perform at 11 a.m. during the worship hour on Sunday October 23 at Great Bend King United Methodist Church at 16th and Odell Street in Great Bend. They are a very good and talented music family from Haysville.
The Torres Family has been ministering for about 13 years. Starting out as a duet, Jeremy and Anthony Torres would sing and, Ray their father would back them up on the guitar. Eventually Ray began singing with his two sons and their ministry started growing. Ray sings lead on some of the group’s songs and still plays guitar occasionally. Ray is the booking agent and drives the group safely from one location to the next. The Lord has given Jeremy great musical talent. He plays piano for the group and does an amazing job singing lead as well as harmony. Anthony brings all the parts together with his smooth baritone voice. He plays the bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and occasionally the harmonica.
Jeremy produced a CD for a young lady by the name of Rebecca Sellers in 2008. Later that same year, Jeremy asked her to join the group and also became his wife. She had been singing alto with the boys ever since joining the group. She loves to watch the Lord restore lives. The Lord has blessed Jeremy and Rebecca with song writing abilities. They have written some of the songs that the group
performs.
In January of 2011, Ray married Carla and she joined the family, adding a second female voice and a true heart for worship. Carla is a great encourager and never hestitates to pray for those in need. Now a group of five, the Torres family travels around the country sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Their main focus is to win the lost and encourage the saints. The Torres family is devoted to sharing God’s word in song and testimony.
