Four area churches are sponsoring a vacation Bible school series that will let kids explore and experience God’s underwater universe, and perhaps take their faith to a new level. “Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep with God,” is a new VBS package published by Cokesbury. Children 4-12 years old are invited to dive into the fun from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily, July 16-20, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 3400 21st St., Great Bend.
Patti Blackwell at First Congregational UCC said the adventures include Bible fun, creative crafts, hands-on mission work, water science and great music. The program is also sponsored by  Trinity Methodist, First United Methodist and King Methodist churches.
Information from Cokesbury ties the theme to Bible verse Hebrews 11:1, “Faith is the reality of what we hoped for, the proof of what we don’t see.” (CEB).
“Dive into and discover God’s underwater universe. Kids journey miles below the waters surface into God’s word to find what true faith is all about.
“By diving deep, kids will: Depend on God; dare to care; claim Jesus; choose to follow; (and) change the world.”
