A Great Bend man is in custody on drug and other charges after officers with the Great Bend Police Department searched a residence in the northwest corner of town Thursday morning, the GBPD reported.

According to a department news release, at approximately 11:33 a.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to 2311 Prairie Rose Drive in reference to assisting Central Kansas Community Corrections. Jason Kober was arrested at the scene on unrelated warrants.

Community Corrections personnel advised officers of suspected drug paraphernalia that they observed while inside the residence. So, a search warrant was obtained.

While searching the house, they located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. As a result, Kober was also booked into the Barton County Jail on additional charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This case is still under investigation and additional arrests are anticipated.  Anyone with information on this case or any other case is encouraged to contact the Great Bend Police Department at 620-793-4120 or Barton County Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300.
