Reverend Butter from Houston, Texas, puts the finishing touches on his first of three ice sculptures, Saturday during Great Bend’s Home for the Holidays Celebration.

His unicorn took about 11 minutes to carve with a chain saw and later became a horse; audience members were invited to “share the magic” as they took photos holding the horn. Asked how he learned his craft, Butter quipped, “I watched a video on You-Tube,” but then confided he’s been doing this for 20 years.

The Home for the Holidays Parade got underway at 5:30 p.m. and continued into the evening.
