ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioners meeting.
The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the commission room in the annex.
Commissioner Garner called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present were Bryce Garner, Todd Wycoff and Jim Stanford.
Colin Holthaus and Monte Parrish with KWORC (Kansas Workers Risk Cooperative for Counties) met with the commission to discuss the current workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the county. They also presented the commissioners with a quote for the 2027 renewal coverage, which came in at $64,576.
David Lamb with KCAMP (Kansas County Association Multiline Pool) presented information for the 2027 renewal of the county package insurance. He went over the individual coverages and then gave the commissioners the 2027 renewal premium information, which totaled $141,298.

He was unable to provide a quote for workers’ compensation insurance, as he did not have a market that would quote the county for that coverage.
Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to accept the renewal quotes with KWORC and KCAMP for 2027 for the county property, vehicle, equipment and workers’ compensation insurance coverages. Motion carried 3-0.
Trent Harman, road and bridge supervisor, presented two road crossing permits. Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Stanford seconded, to approve road crossing permits No. 20261007A and No. 20261007B submitted by Max Fisher to have Davis Electrical Inc. plow 2-inch electrical lines in PVC at a depth of 5 feet at SW 10th Ave. and SW 20th St., one-quarter mile from the intersection of 10th Ave. and 20th St., and NE 170th St., 1,325 feet east of NE 30th Ave. Motion carried 3-0.
