Great Bend Police
A yard ornament and some lights were taken from 2314 31st St., Apartment 8A, it was reported Monday. Also reported at that location was theft of a palm tree from 1B, theft of several yard lights from 3A and theft of a flower pot and a yard lights from 8B.
A woman reported she left her wallet in a shopping cart at Walmart on Monday and someone took it. Another woman reported the contents of her wallet were taken while it was in a shopping cart.
A set of Memphis-brand speakers was taken from a vehicle at 3015 Meadowlark Lane, it was reported Monday.
A burglary at 2504 Williams St. was reported Monday. Someone entered a shed and took a hedge trimmer and a battery charger.
A city vehicle was involved in an accident at 10th and McKinley St. at 3:52 p.m. Monday. Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Theft of a For Sale sign at 1447 12th St. was reported Monday. Loss was $50.
Danielle Hayward was driving west on 10th St. at 5:21 p.m. Monday and struck a vehicle driven by Dickie Hiebert that was slowing down for traffic.
Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters assisted the Ellinwood Fire Department on a call on Monday.
At 5:36 a.m. Tuesday, they responded to 2419 Canterbury Lane, where flames were coming from the back porch or deck. Chief Mike Napolitano said the cause of the fire had not been determined but was believed to be accidental. Damage was over $4,000.
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Monday.
