Bicyclist arrested for meth possession
on the record

A Great Bend police officer making a traffic stop of a bicyclist at approximately 11:59 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Morton Street near Great Bend High School was advised that the cyclist, identified as Joyce Garcia, was wanted on a Rooks County warrant. As Garcia was being placed under arrest, the officer located a white substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Garcia was transported and booked into Barton County Jail for methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia possession, with no drug tax stamp in lieu of a $10,000 bond. She was also booked for the outstanding Rooks County warrant.
