Man booked on attempted murder charge
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic call to a rural residence southeast of Great Bend around 11 a.m. Sunday after a man allegedly assaulted his wife. Sheriff Brian Bellendir said there were no apparent serious injuries.
Jerome Koett of Great Bend was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of attempted murder in the second degree, aggravated domestic battery, six counts of aggravated endangerment of a child, battery, criminal threat and aggravated assault. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

Firefighters made six Emergency Medical Service calls Friday, seven Saturday and five Sunday.
A small grass fire was reported at 5:10 p.m. Saturday on the south side of the diversion dam, just off Washington (82 Washington St.).
A structure fire was reported at 4:50 a.m. Monday after an alarm went off at 908 9th St., Great Bend. Nothing was found.

A structure fire was reported at 3:18 p.m. Friday at Marks Custom Signs, 67 B NE 20 Road, Great Bend.
A theft was reported at 102 SW 6 Ave., Great Bend.
Storm damage was reported at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of West Barton County Road, Great Bend.
A report of a burglary in progress at 8:46 p.m. Sunday in rural Great Bend turned out to be a civil issue; no case was taken.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:29 a.m. Friday at Dillons No. 51, 4107 10th St.
An abandoned bike with no seat was found at The Center, 1225 Patton Road. It was booked into evidence.
A sex offense was reported.
Police received a report Saturday about a door being damaged last Thursday at 1416 Pyle St.
Someone damaged the mirror on a vehicle at 2206 Harrison St.
Miami Beach Police Department contacted the GBPD to report locating a jet ski stolen in 2012.
Goodwill Industries of Great Bend, 1705 Main, reported receiving a donation of live ammo. Items were disposed of.
A burglary in progress was reported at 3:49 p.m. Sunday at Walmart.

K-9 Menta was used at the Barton County Detention Center at 6:44 p.m.
BCSO requested assistance with the jail at 7:13 p.m.
Theft of a bag from a vehicle at Circle K Convenience, 2337 Washington, was reported at 6:40 a.m. Monday.
A theft was reported Monday morning at Holiday Inn Express, 3821 10th St.
