ELLINWOOD — An 8-year-old boy crossing U.S. in Ellinwood on a bicycle outside of the crosswalk was hit by a vehicle at 6:38 p.m. Sunday. Kansas Highway Patrol reports that Andrew Mark McGlynn from Ellinwood was taken to the Ellinwood Hospital with a suspected serious injury.

McGlynn was crossing the highway, also known as Santa Fe Boulevard, in the 400 block. He was struck by a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Meredith Anna Joiner, 39, of Ellinwood. She was wearing a seat belt and had no apparent injury.
