Adopt-A-Pet — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Orschlen Farm and Home, 5320 10th St. Sponsored by Golden Belt Humane Society.
Sunflower Diversified Services 4th Annual Charity Chili Cook-off — Tasting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at participating Great Bend businesses. $5 taster bracelet; all proceeds from tasters go to the Great Bend Food Bank.
Eagles’ annual Halloween party — Starting at 5 p.m. at the Great Bend Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, 1024 Main, with DJ the DJ. Members and guests welcome.
Howl-O-Ween Bash — 7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1120 Kansas Ave., Great Bend. Benefit for the Golden Belt Humane Society, featuring the band Home Brew. Costume contest, door prizes, appetizers and a cash bar will be available. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Call Kim at 620-791-7893 for tickets.

ONGOING
Halloween Costume Drive — Drop off old costumes at the Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., during business hours. Costumes will be stored for next year’s Kiwanis costume exchange.

SUDAY
Royal Family Kids Camp Chili and Soup Lunch — Noon to 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend. A freewill offering will be accepted to benefit this camp for children ages 6-12 who are in foster care due to abuse or neglect. Choice of chili or chicken noodle soup, and dessert.
German buffet – 5-7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish Center, downtown Ellinwood. Adults $8.50 and children 6-12 $4; 5 and under eat free.

MONDAY
Teen Movie Monday — 4 p.m. at the Great Bend Public Library.

TUESDAY
Hoisington Swinging Stars square dance — 7:30 p.m., at Jazzercise Hall, 1409 Main St., Great Bend. Note the change of location.

FRIDAY
Great Bend Workforce Center veterans appreciation day – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the center, 1025 Main St. The public is invited, and lunch will be provided to veterans and their spouses.
WELCA Bazaar — Meals served from 5-7 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 308 South Walnut St. in Rush Center. Auction starts at 7 p.m. Food, handcrafted items and more on sale by the Women of Evangelical Church of America.
Chili & Chicken Noodle Soup and Homemade Pie — 5-7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 24th and Adams, Great Bend. Adults $7, children 5-12 $4, 4 and under eat free. Quilt made by Trinity Ladies Fellowship to be given away. Proceeds benefit projects and mission.

SATURDAY
27th Annual Hunters Breakfast — 5:30-9:30 a.m. at the Seward Parish Hall in Seward. Knights of Columbus serve free pancakes, sausage and eggs, coffee, for freewill donation for charities. Altar Society will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drawing for prizes at 1 p.m.
Claflin Lions Club Hunter’s Breakfast — 5:30-10:30 a.m. at the new Claflin Community Center, on A St. between Williamson and Park. Cost is freewill donation for all you can eat.
Dominican Sisters of Peace Annual Mission Benefit Bazaar — 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3600 Broadway in Great Bend. Beverage and coffee cake in the morning, soup and pie for lunch, hundreds of handcrafted and homemade items, a drawing for 16 prizes, unique gift theme baskets, and a silent auction. FBLA Business/Craft Festival — 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Panther Activity Center. Sponsored by the Future Business Leaders of America at Great Bend High School.
Benefit dance with Ronnie and the Rockets — 8 p.m. to midnight at the Hoisington American Legion. Freewill donations will help defray medical expenses for Hoisington resident Leta (Jackson) Ochs, who has been diagnosed with the West Nile virus.
