Great Bend Police

Citations were issued Wednesday to Judith Evans, 46, and Jon Kubitscheck, 52, for battery domestic violence after the county attorney’s office declined to file charges in district court. Both were originally booked for on aggravated battery charges; their bonds were reduced to $1,000 with charges filed in municipal court. Both were later released on their own recognizance.

A vehicle driven by Anthony Larsen was eastbound on 10th St. and struck a city vehicle driven by Thomas Turley, which was also eastbound on 10th, at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday. Larsen received minor injuries but refused treatment. Kansas Highway Patrol also worked the accident due to the involvement of a city vehicle.

A green sport utility vehicle was involved in a $40 gas skip at 1906 Main at 5:28 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer on U.S. 281, north of the 4-H grounds, at 7:46 a.m. Wednesday. KHP responded.

A car hit the back of the street sweeper at 10th and McKinley in Great Bend at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday. Both air bags deployed and one person sustained a possible head injury. KHP responded.

A vehicle hit a cow in the 1300 block of NE 10 Road at 6:27 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Wednesday. There were no fires.
