Great Bend Fire Department
A trailer house at 210 Hubbard St. was destroyed in a fire Sunday evening, Great Bend Fire Chief Mike Napolitano reports.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 5:15 p.m. and arrived to find a fully involved fire. All occupants were out of the house, which was owned by Willie Getman. "The structure was a total loss," Napolitano said.
Investigators returned to the house Monday morning to attempt to determine the cause of the fire.
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Thursday, three Friday, six Saturday and five Sunday.
There were two structure fires Thursday, at 1308 Eighth St. and at 5708 Hemlock. (For more information see the Dec. 26 Great Bend Tribune.)
On Friday firefighters responded to a smoke smell at Wendy’s restaurant, 3519 10th St., at 3 p.m. They found an electrical smell.

A hit-and-run motorist struck a parked vehicle at 2506 Gano St. last Thursday.
A hit-and-run motorist struck a parked vehicle in the Walmart parking lot Thursday.
Personal financial cards were stolen from an individual while she was working at 3503 10th St., it was reported Thursday.
Rashell Alsup was driving north on Harrison at 12:59 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Lazaro Guerra that was stopped for traffic at Broadway.
Melvin Loreg was driving east on 10th St. at 1:40 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Britani Whitman that was northbound crossing 10th turning west at 2:50 p.m. Thursday. This was reported as an injury accident.
A Phillips TV was taken from the lobby at 3515 Broadway, it was reported Thursday.
Auto parts and tools were taken from inside a pickup at 2606 10th St., it was reported Thursday.
Theft of a 30-day tag from a vehicle at 209 Hickory St. was reported Friday morning.
Someone shot the windshield on a pickup at 5501 Ninth St. No. 79, it was reported Friday. Loss was $300.
Criminal damage to a garage door at 1316 Sherman St. was reported Sunday. Loss was $300.
A gas skip at 1001 Main was reported at 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

A vehicle hit a stop sign on U.S. 56 at SW 50 Ave. around 4:45 p.m. Friday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
