Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer one mile west of the Claflin turnoff on K-156 at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

Theft of a Dell laptop computer, Xbox 360, Kinect and iPod from a student housing unit at Barton Community College, 245 NE 30 Road, was reported Tuesday night.

Firefighters made three ambulance runs on Tuesday. They were called to an unauthorized burn at 7 SE 30 Road.

A shoplifting at Walmart was reported Tuesday after a male in a camouflage coat allegedly stole electronic items. Loss was $127.
